Allie’s Resolutions!

New Year’s Resolutions have never really been my thing. Like most people, I would make a resolution and then within a month or so I would have already quit. Of course, I’d love to lose weight, eat healthier, exercise more, and be an overall better person. These goals are going to be lifestyle changes that I will gradually increase in order to become my overall better self, but not my New Year’s Resolution.

I’ve decided that I want my New Year’s Resolution to be: To communicate more in every aspect of my life. I tend to be a person who doesn’t expose my emotions or tell people how I feel. I like to keep things bottled up until eventually, I explode. This is something that I’ve needed to work on since high school. I’ve decided that 2018 will be the year that I open up and communicate more. I believe this will greatly help me not only in my personal life but also in my professional career. If I have a problem or need help, by communicating more I will be able to gain clarity easier and resolve any issues. In my personal life, this will benefit me immensely so that any problems minor or major will be resolved quickly and there will be fewer misunderstandings.

I think this goal of mine will destress my life, improve my work performance, and help me overall in many aspects. I’m very passionate about my work and helping others. By having open communication with my employer, co-workers, and College Prevention Partnership members, I believe that this year will be the best one yet for GPP and the CPP. I can’t wait to see where 2018 takes me, but I know with open communication that it will be positive.

Is your New Year’s Resolution to become a member of the CPP or to be more involved?! If you’re interested or have questions, feel free to call or email me! I can be reached at 404-500-4462 or awinkleman@georgiapreventionproject.org. Hope to hear from you!
