DEA National Drug Take-Back Day

The DEA National Drug Take-Back Day is THIS Saturday, April 27th from 10 AM – 2 PM. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs. The study showed that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA’s Take-Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths. At the October Take-Back event last year, there were 4,770 law enforcement involved, 5,839 collection sites, and… wait for it.. 914,236 lbs. collected! WHAT!? That’s insane! We hope even more is collected this upcoming event. To find out which Take-Back Day location is nearest to you, visit https://takebackday.dea.gov.
