You are all invited to Lassiter High School’s TAC Prevention Summit. Whether you are a student, parent, teacher, friend, or supporter come join us! We will be talking about the importance of both parent and teen involvement addressing substance issues.
There will be two panel discussions: one for parents and one for teens. Both panel discussions will have fun and interactive activities! In addition, we will be having multiple speakers including: Missy Owen from Davis Direction and The Zone, Latreece Roby from Cobb Community Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse, Laura Searcy as our vaping expert and pediatric nursing practitioner, and our very own TAC members.
Learn how you can safeguard your homes against substance misuse. Experimentation and misuse can begin at an early age and for a wide variety of reasons. The brains of young people are still developing and at risk to develop a substance use disorder – which is a disease. Learn more about the risks, signs to look for, and ways to talk with your child. Together we can spread awareness and education while reducing stigma.
Young people (12+) are also encouraged to come out and learn how they can be part of the solution! Teens listen to teens so providing young people with the knowledge of how to avoid substance misuse and promote healthy choices is a benefit for all. Giving our youth a safe space to practice what to say and how is what prevention is all about.
You don’t want to miss out! See you all there!
