Join us on February 21st and experience the Road Map for Substance Abuse Prevention!
Substance Abuse Prevention Day is about letting your voice be heard! You know your community’s greatest asset and its most significant barrier. Let’s utilize this opportunity to put our best prevention foot forward! Gather your facts, data and strongest community leaders. Let’s start building relationships with our elected officials. Legislators are here for you! They can only advocate on your behalf if they know your successes and challenges.
We’ll begin the day hearing from local prevention experts and will partake in roundtable discussions on how best to advocate for prevention. Each table will have a proctor and subject matter expert to guide the discussion. This crash course in advocacy, plus the creation of elevator speeches and one pagers will set the stage for later in the day when attendees are given the chance to speak with their own legislators. The event will culminate with a rally located within the Georgia Capitol.
Last year our Teen Advisory Council students came out in force, to support this event. This year, we’re excited that some of our College Prevention Partnership students have volunteered to serve as proctors. We can’t wait to see the meaningful collaboration that takes place. Join us, you won’t want to miss out. #SAPDAY18Back to Blog
