TAC Intern Joins GPP!

Hello! I’m Victoria, a senior at the Wheeler High School Center for Advanced Studies. I was born and raised in Marietta, and I am currently looking to go to school for neuropsychology. I grew up in a mixed culture family where I have been taught the importance of acceptance and awareness of everyone’s personal struggles. My family’s lessons as well as my own experiences have been a major factor in my dedication to mental health.

In September of 2019, I became president of Wheeler’s Teen Advisory Council. Through TAC, I was able to involve myself with a community that has done so much for me while gaining important leadership skills.

I even had the privilege of speaking at the Lassiter TAC Summit in November about the importance of mental health. When I began looking for an internship, Georgia Prevention Project was the first thing that came to mind! I greatly admire GPP’s message and all that they aspire to accomplish. While I have always been an advocate of prevention and awareness, it is not something that I’ve seen in action until I joined TAC.

I am beyond excited to join the team, however briefly, to help make an impact on our community. GPP’s mission and vision is one that I hope will be adopted across the nation, and I aspire to see a society made of happy and healthy people. I look forward to a wonderful internship with GPP!
