Meet Our New Program Coordinator!

Hi fellow GPP fans! My name is Rachel Matton and I am the new Program Coordinator for the Georgia Prevention Project. Some of you may recognize my name or face as I had the wonderful opportunity to intern with GPP last semester. During that time, I learned so much about what it takes to work in the prevention field amidst a pandemic.

I worked alongside our TAC and CPP programs and had the opportunity to create a new, virtual vape series soon to be put into action. My passion for drug prevention and education grew more and more each day through this experience and I am excited to officially be part of the GPP team!

A little about me and my role: I have my bachelor’s in Public Health Education and I will soon be working towards becoming a certified preventionist as well as a health education specialist.

As the new Program Coordinator, I will be assisting our TAC and CPP programs. I will also be revamping our community outreach plan and educational resources in hopes to bring more awareness to drug education and prevention. My overarching goal for this year is to continue the works of the Georgia Prevention Project aimed at reducing the use of dangerous drugs among teens and young adults. With that, I encourage educators to get excited and remain on the lookout for new materials!

We are so excited to have Rachel as our newest team member! We hope you all are excited as well because we have big plans for 2021!
