The Miller House: Living the Promises of Sobriety

For the past few years, Bethany Miller has been such an inspiring and helpful faculty advisor for our Kennesaw Mountain High School TAC. She is now starting a new endeavor: The Miller House sober living residence for women. We asked her to elaborate more on this new adventure and this is what she had to share:

Our founding goal is to help women achieve lifelong recovery from alcohol and substance use by providing residents a safe space for learning to live free from substances and the triggers of past “people, places and playgrounds,” while allowing them the dignity to come and go as needed during growth in recovery within respectful boundaries for roommates while maintaining a foundation of stability and accountability.

Recognizing the lack of affordable housing for women in recovery that embraces an independent focus within a peer supported living community, Mr. and Mrs. Miller decided to pass forward the blessings received through the gift of recovery by restoring their first home for the benefit of other women making a positive life change. The opposite of addiction is connection and women exiting residential treatment programs with higher levels of monitoring need a Level One option for safe and supported transition toward independent living.  The Millers believe that investing in human capital yields the greatest reward and has a domino effect in the community.

The Miller House operates on a strong foundation of ethics and policies with the aim of securing a reputation within the Metro-Atlanta area as an integral resource in the community for women in recovery. Mrs. Miller is a Nationally Certified Recovery Coach Professional with strong ties to the Cobb and Metro-Atlanta area recovery network and is humbled to be able to share the Promises of Sobriety with other women.

It is now open and accepting applications! Please see and share the virtual tour by going to and scroll down to the purple house icon to click for a tour. Good luck on this new endeavor, and we can’t wait to see all the good things you do!
